01 - CHALLENGE
-
Efficiency
Challenger and Cruiser Class solar cars need to efficiently convert solar energy into power to cross the finish line faster than anyone else.
-
Reliability
Solar cars must have the durability to travel approximately 3,000 kilometers and be able to drive safely on public roads.
-
Constraints
Participating vehicles must be designed to meet the detailed regulations set by the organizer, as well as standard traffic laws. The unique rules of the event are regularly reviewed and updated to a high level of difficulty, ensuring that participating teams are always stimulated for a new challenge.
The key to success in the Cruiser Class is speed and practicality. In addition to complying with traffic laws, it is essential that the vehicles are appealing to end-users. By striving to meet these standards, teams get to experience the real essence of building cars.

02 - ADVENTURE
BWSC is a grand adventure. The Australian Outback is so remote that the locals refer to it as "the tyranny of distance." Roadhouses, which provide fuel and essential supplies, are scattered hundreds of kilometers apart. Outside of these stops, there is truly nothing familiar to those who live in cities or towns. On the other hand, one could say that everything that has supported the lives of the indigenous people for tens of thousands of years is still present there. This is the true essence of adventure. Traversing this vast land requires meticulous planning and well-coordinated teamwork.
According to race regulation, each team can only drive from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It’s almost impossible to reach a comfortable motel by exactly 5:00 PM, so participants pitch tents and spend the night self-sufficiently wherever they are in the desert. Camping under billions of stars of the Southern Hemisphere will be an unforgettable experience. The ability to maintain and repair their solar car is also an essential part of this challenge.
