Tokyo (November 7, 2011)-Bridgestone Corporation today announced that it will exhibit at the 42nd Tokyo Motor Show 2011 to be held at the Tokyo Big Sight November 30 through December 11, 2011
*1. Bridgestone's booth at this year's event will showcase the three themes of Reliable, Economical, and Futuristic. The booth will also communicate the appeal of Bridgestone's products and the superiority of its technologies, as well as its advanced and forward-thinking nature, to show visitors.
The booth introduces the following products and technologies, and allows visitors to experience them "hands-on".
1. Reliable
a. Runflat tires that can be driven with zero inflation pressure for a limited distance at a reduced speed
b. Studless tires that are designed for superior performance and handling on snow-covered or frozen roads
2. Economical
a. Environmentally friendly ECOPIA tires that feature improved fuel efficiency through reduced rolling resistance. The Bridgestone line of Ecopia tires now includes truck and bus tires as well as passenger tires
b. Retread technologies that enable the tread of a used tire to be removed and a new tread to be bonded to the tire through vulcanization, thus allowing it to be reused
3. Futuristic
a. Bridgestone concepts for achieving the reduction in raw materials use
b. CAIS*2 technologies that collect and evaluate road surface condition information through technology in the tire
c. New tire concepts that are exceptional at meeting customer expectations with regard to environmental friendliness, performance, and driver comfort
Further, Bridgestone will continue as sponsor of the motor show's press center, a sponsorship the company has had since the 36th Tokyo Motor Show held in 2002.
