Featuring races in three classes, the competition required each team to develop vehicles meeting the new regulations of each category. This year's event also featured a number of innovative display designs. In the Clipsal & Schneider Electric Challenger Class, contestants competed on the basis of time, competition rules made achieving fast times more difficult than in previous competitions. Nevertheless, the winner, Nuon Solar Car Team (from Netherlands), achieved a remarkable record of 33hours 3minutes, falling just short of the winning time set in the previous competition by a mere 18minutes.
Whether it is through eco-friendly products such as our Ecopia line energy efficient tires or our support of environmental efforts around the globe, Bridgestone is committed to continually working with customers, partners, and the communities in which we live and work to create an environmentally sustainable society.
