Tires are latest offering in addition to food, water and funding

Tokyo (December 5, 2013) - With deep condolences for the victims and those who lost loved ones as a result of Typhoon Haiyan, which hit the central Philippines on November 8, the Bridgestone Corporation announced today that it will donate 50 tires for disaster rescue vehicles through the Japanese Red Cross Society to support relief efforts in the Philippines.
The Company is proud that products core to our business can play a role in recovery, enabling vehicles to perform at such critical times. On behalf of the entire Bridgestone Group, our hope is for a swift recovery for the people and the areas impacted by this devastating natural disaster.
The Bridgestone Corporation previously announced a contribution of 10 million yen to support relief efforts in the Philippines through the Japanese Red Cross Society. And Bridgestone Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (BSAP), the Company's regional headquarters for the Asia Pacific region, also committed 50,000 Singapore dollars (approximately 3.9 million yen) to support relief efforts through the Singapore Red Cross Society. Additionally, Bridgestone Precision Molding Philippines, Inc., (BPMP) donated goods such as food and water through the Philippine Red Cross Society.
