Tokyo (July 14, 2014) - Ensuring its license to operate and recognizing urban policies governing its current location, Bridgestone Corporation announced today that Shenyang Bridgestone Co., Ltd. (SYBS) will relocate its plant and facilities from its current location in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, China to a chemical industry park also in Shenyang City.
A Bridgestone Group company, SYBS manufactures rubber tracks used on agricultural, construction, mining and transportation equipment, as well as marine fenders used as energy absorbing bumpers on docks of shipping ports around the world. The relocation will require an estimated investment totaling 204 million Yuan (approximately ¥3.3 billion), including building construction and equipment. The new plant will be situated on about 52,000 square meters, and plans are for production to commence in the first half of 2016.
