Tokyo (November 22, 2016) - Bridgestone Corporation today announced that its BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S21 tires will be original equipment on Yamaha Motor's 2017 YZF-R6*1 super sport motorcycle announced on October 14, 2016, and a popular model in the R series, the new Yamaha YZF-R6 sees its first major model change in nearly a decade. Building on the high levels of circuit and winding-road capabilities the current model is known for, the new YZF-R6 featuring Bridgestone BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S21 tires reaches new pinnacles of design and riding performance.
BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S21 tires evolved from the BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S20 EVO tires, which were extremely popular among riders for delivering the dry-road grip performance and nimble handling expected of sports radial tires. The Bridgestone BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S21 tire was engineered using the company's proprietary optimization process, ULTIMAT EYE™*2, to provide the superior grip, abrasion resistance, exceptional cornering performance, and high wear resilience required for super sport riding.
Through efforts to promote adoption as original equipment, Bridgestone will continue to expand the BATTLAX brand worldwide.
