YART Yamaha Official EWC Team on Bridgestone Tires Achieve Third Place in FIM World Endurance Champion Series

TOKYO (August 1, 2017) - Bridgestone Corporation (Bridgestone) today announced that YART Yamaha Official EWC team on Bridgestone tires finished third in the FIM World Endurance Champion series. This is the first year Bridgestone has supplied tires for teams who entered the full season in the series.
Bridgestone supplied tires to YART Yamaha Official EWC team from the second race in the EWC series, overcoming the adjustment of machine-settings and ride-feeling concerns that resulted from changing tires in the series. The team took second place in the two series races and achieved a high score. In the final race, the Suzuka 8 Hours, the team earned third place finish.
F.C.C. TSR Honda, the another team on Bridgestone tires, finished third place in the Suzuka 8 Hours, and achieved fourth place in the EWC series.

“We missed only 16 points for the championship title, but I know YART was the most competitive in the championship.” said Mandy Kainz, team manager for YART Yamaha Official EWC Team. “I am happy everybody could see that we were very competitive, that we had a strong package, and that we were just a little unlucky. Not a full season with Bridgestone tires, we lost many championship points in Bol d’Or this season, and now we can start the first complete season with Bridgestone tires. I am quite sure we can win in the coming season”
