Bridgestone Announces Establishment of New Mining Solution Centre in Australia

Enhancement of Global Service Network for Providing Solutions to Mine Operators

Tokyo (April 10, 2019) -- Bridgestone Corporation today announced that Australian subsidiary Bridgestone Mining Solutions Australia Pty. Ltd. (BMSA), which sells and provides services pertaining to tires for mining vehicles and conveyor belts, established the Hunter Valley Mining Solution Centre (HMSC) as a new mining solution centre on April 10, 2019.

HMSC combines mining vehicle tire sales, maintenance, and repair services; rim refurbishment and repair services; and tire fitting services to provide solutions for mine operators that are tailored to frontline mine operations. In addition, HMSC coordinates with Bridgestone Australia Ltd., a Bridgestone entity that sells truck and bus tires, to offer total mobility solutions that support transportation in a wide range of areas including transportation inside of mines and transportation to mineral export ports.

Furthermore, HMSC utilizes Bridgestone Intelligent Tag (B-TAG)*1 and the TreadStat™ Tire and Rim Management software,*2, both proprietary Bridgestone tools, to measure, collect, and analyze data on metrics such as tire pressure and temperature. These tools enable HMSC to propose plans for optimizing on-site operations that encompass everything from vehicle management to tire replacement and rotation. HMSC is thereby able to contribute to improved safety, productivity, and asset value for mine operators.

HMSC is the second Bridgestone mining solution centre in Australia following the Pilbara Mining Solution Centre, which was established in Western Australia in November 2017.
