Encouraging employees to do volunteer work in their communities

Bridgestone supports employee volunteer activities by providing time and funding. The Group also recognizes both organizational and employee social activities with the Bridgestone Group Awards for Contribution to Society as a means of recognizing proactive employee participation in social contribution activities.

Going forward, the Bridgestone Group will continue to support employee participation in social contribution activities.

Bridgestone established a volunteer leave program as one of the ways to support social activities by its employees. The program encourages participation in volunteer activities, allowing employees nationwide to take advantage of a leave of absence each year. In July 2014, a volunteer leave program was introduced, providing employees with up to three years of temporary leave to participate in volunteer activities.
